Early Childhood Resources

Early childhood education can be an exciting and rewarding field.  Working with children presents a wonderful opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of children and their families in your community.

Research has demonstrated the significance of a child’s early years for brain development. It also has confirmed the importance of the early childhood workforce, and the education of the workforce, and its impact on children and high-quality child care.

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH

Macomb County Community Mental Health

Infant Mental Health Program
The Infant Mental Health Program is a prevention and early intervention program that provides assessments, developmental guidance, advocacy, emotional support, counseling, and psychiatric services to moms that are pregnant and families with children birth through age three who are "at risk for poor attachment relationships" that could result in developmental delays, abuse, and/or neglect. The earliest relationships--from birth to three--are the key to providing critical attentive care and nurturing stimulation to a young developing brain. Through this, trust, security, confidence and self-regulation provide the groundwork for success in school and life.  Call to find out if you are eligible to receive IMH services: Call (586) 466-6912, or e-mail: pam.pitlanish@mccmh.net
